Agricultural reed is an environmentally friendly alternative source for making handbags. It helps reduce waste by using surplus reed from agriculture thus reducing the reliance on trees.The resulting reed is highly breathable. Reed also has a structure that repels moisture, meaning it wicks away moisture quickly. The smooth and round structure of the reed fibre is the secret behind this fantastic property, as is its absorbency. This unique property of reed is particularly welcome for those who have sensitive skin or suffer from allergies. Reed has a positive impact on global environmental concerns such as water scarcity, deforestation, soil erosion and the greenhouse effect. Reed is a by far more sustainable textile than cotton available to help create a better world.
